Here is a recap of our week in 5th Class by Mia Mc and Mikey….
This week in maths we are doing Charts and graphs we even done a test about charts and graphs today!!! We do different types of charts like Pictograms, Bar charts, Pie charts and more.
This week in Irish we have been learning a poem called "An gabhar sa scoil" and its very funny! We also learned about a story called "An olpheist sa scoil" and now we are learning some funny sounding words like "uathu" and "uaim", we also learned countries as Gaeilge.
In English we are reading a story called The Bear Cub, we have also been doing a report on extinction in animals.
In Geography we are learning about rocks like Limestone, Basalt, Sandstone and Marble. We even learned about the Earth's crust.
This week in History we are learning about Qin Shi Huang the first Chinese Emperor and his good and bad laws. We did projects about The Great Wall of China, Qin Shi Huang, Ancient Chinese Inventions and The Terracotta Army.
Art is my favourite subject and this week we were drawing a story quilt, we were inspired by the lovely artist Faith Ringgold.
Unfortunately the weather was rainy on the days we do P.E. so hopefully the weather clears up and it doesn't rain next week.
As for news…we have been behaving well so our teacher said we might get to watch a match for the World Cup in a few weeks. That's all for now.... Mia Mc and Mikey.
