October in Fourth Class
We another busy, enjoyable month. The highlight of the month was having Lego Spike for the last two weeks. This was a kit that teacher borrowed from Sligo Education Centre, we were able to borrow ten kits. Each day we would pop into the GP room and work with our group to create and programme different objects that we built using the lego. The creations were amazing. Please watch the videos below to see some of our work.
At the start of the month we went over to Abbey Drive on a signs of Autumn hunt. We found lots of berries!
In English we were learning about how to work in small groups, we took part in a Pobble writing webinar where we wrote a story about a dinosaur.
Sa Gaeilge bhíomar ag foghlaim faoi Oíche Shamhna. Scríobhomar scéal faoi Oíche Shamhna freisin.
Maths are getting difficult this month. We have been working on multiplication and we just started long division😲, we're doing very well. During Math week we took part in a table quiz with Ms. O'Connor's third class. It was great fun.
Our Morning Meeting are still going really well & are the highlight of our day. We love the different games we play like charades, four corners and heads or tails.
In PE we have been very lucky for the past two weeks Mr. Caldwell has brought us out and played basketball with us. We absolutely LOVED this. Thanks Mr. Caldwell!
During the week Garda Marta & Niamh called into talk to us about being safe over the Halloween. We had a lovely treat yesterday when Aisha & Elena shared a cake they had made with Mrs. McDonnell with us, it was yum😋.
Today we got to dress up for Halloween. We all put our best efforts into our costumes. We met in Supervalu & the Ball Alley and walked to school. We then had a parade in the yard, we got to see all the costumes created by the children in our school while listening to Halloween music. It was so much fun watching our schoolmates parade around the yard.
We hope everyone has a lovely midterm.
