November in Fourth Class
By Brody
November went by in a flash! We can't believe it is December already. We had a busy month in fourth class.
In English we learned about famous explorers and did a fact file about them on Canva. We all enjoyed doing this. We also learned about narrative writing and wrote our own stories. We also worked on the comprehension strategy 'prediction' using picture books, this was very exciting.
In maths we finished our fractions after learning about halves, thirds, quarters, fifths, sixths, eighths and tenths. These were tricky.
In SESE we learned how to combat waste and about tourism in Ireland.
P.E. this month we focussed on basketball. We had some great games out on the court.
In art we drew winter landscapes and hot chocolate. We coloured them in with chalk pastels. They turned out really well.
Bhíomar ag foglaim faoi An Scoil sa gaeilge. D'fhoghlaimómar an dán 'Mo Phóca'.
We had two table quizzes during the month, one on the American presidental election and the other on the general election in Ireland. We really enjoyed these.
On the 28th we voted for a boy and a girl to represent our class on the student council. We got to design our campaign posters on Canva. During our morning meeting we went through our manifesto with our classmates.
Our new class representatives for this year are Evie & Noah. We wish them the best of luck for the year ahead.
Congratulations to Taim who came third in a local art exhibition & to Harry, Brody, Imogen and Caragh, who were our handwriters and gaelgeoirí of the month from September and October.
