January in Mrs. McDonagh’s 6th Class

Math: In math this month we learned all about weight and length, it was hard work but we all managed!
Gaeilge: For Gaeilge this month we did the topic Bia, we quite enjoyed this chapter in Irish and hope to do more on it!
English: This month for English we have started TSI, TSI is where there are groups of three and you all have the same novel but you have a closer look at it. It focuses on the comprehension strategies.
History: For history this month we learned all about Henry VIII and the Tudors, we also learned about Reformation in Ireland.
Science: In science we learned about light, we enjoyed this chapter because it was quite interesting learning about light and the sources of it.
P.E: For P.E we got outside and active by playing soccer, basketball and dodgeball!
Minecraft: In minecraft we have started the last episode which detailed the competition. We have to build a more sustainable Ballisodare! We are making progress on it and are all enjoying working as one team!
Junior Entrepreneur Programme: We have been working on the chapter ‘Exploring New Ideas’, we are working in groups getting ideas ready to pitch to the Dragons. It’s very exciting.
Art: We completed pieces of art using oil pastels, we blended and used a mix of colours along with a pencil to draw in details.
