January in Fourth Class
by Ethan
This month a new student, Judith, joined our class. We had a busy month. We started the new year with a school mass in the GP Room celebrated by Fr. Towey.
In English we learned about the Titanic & about Francis Browne, a famous Irish priest, who took lots of photos of the Titanic before it sank.
Bhíomar ag foghlaim faoi An Geimhreadh & An Aimsir. Léamhamar an scéal ‘Oíche Ghaofar’’. Bhíomar ag caint faoi Tuar na Aimsire freisin.
In Maths we started learning about long multiplication, we worked really hard at this and we think we have nearly all mastered it.
We drew and painted winter foxes in art and the day before St. Brigid’s Day we made St. Brigid’s crosses in class using rushes.
In SPHE we started the Stay Safe programme and we learned all about feelings.
Sligo Rovers came to our school to talk to us about racism. We really enjoyed the workshop.
For PE we did Gymnastics, we’re all getting better at our forward rolls.
Finally in SESE we learned about the Ancient Egyptians.
It was a jam packed month.
