Last Tuesday Garda Tara and Garda Angela along with Laura from Youth Action Project Sligo/Leitrim (YAPSL) came to visit our class to chat to us about the importance of staying safe during the Halloween season. Laura spoke to us about the dangers of handling and being around fireworks, she chatted with us about 'Stranger Danger' when trick or treating and considering which houses to call to. Laura also used oven gloves to demonstrate with us what it would be like trying to tie your lace if you had a hand injury from fireworks. Garda Tara and Garda Angela wanted to get the message across to us that the Gardaí are there to help our community and that if we need anything that they are always very approachable. It was a very enjoyable visit.
