December in 4th Class

By Caragh & Kayla

Wow!  December flew by so fast.

In Maths we began to learn about decimals, we did tenths and hundredths.

In English we read a story called a Christmas Carol, we also read about Christmas Traditions.

We learned about  synonyms and antonyms in grammar.

In SESE we learned about Ancient Egyptians. We were amazed!

In Religion we learned about Advent. Dolores, Eoghlan & Keegan made us a beautiful Advent wreath for our classroom. We read the story about the angel coming to tell Mary’s cousin Elizabeth that she was going to have a baby named John and of course about the angel Gabriel coming to Mary and telling her about baby Jesus.

We had an advent calendar in our room, each of us got a turn to open a door & got a piece of chocolate yum yum!!

We wrote Christmas cards and went to the post office to post them. Teacher & Mrs. McMoreland surprised us and brought us to Supervalu to get hot chocolates.

In music we learned our songs for the school play. Our song was Silent Night. We learned a verse in English and a verse in Irish.

For art we painted reindeers and snowmen, we also used oil pastels to make hot chocolate pictures

Bhíomar ag foghlaim faoi An Nollaig. Léamhamar an scéal ‘An Chéad Oíche Nollag’.Bhíomar ag caint faoi Dinnéar na Nollag freisin.

We decorated our classroom doors with elfs on the shelfs. We all made our own elf on the shelf  with our faces on it using canva. We decorated our Christmas tree in our classroom.

Santa came this morning and gave us each a treat, we sang Feliz Navidad.🎅🏽🎄

Give us a blanket to wrap this all up for this is December.

Best wishes for 2025 from 4th class!
