Thursday brought glorious weather to Abbey Drive for the quarter finals of the Cumann na mBunscol Shield. St. John’s faced Grange in two very sporting contests.
Our Girls were up first in what was an end to end game. They were slow to start but made a valiant come back in the second half just missing out on a place in the semi-final.
The boys followed with a very strong display lead by our superb 6th class pupils. Three 4th class boys made their full debut on the day but they certainly didn’t look out of place on the football pitch. With a great blend of experience and youth, the boys proved comfortable winners in the end.
That means the boys are now through to the semi-final of the shield competition. Well done to all involved!
