Term Two in Sixth Class

Term Two in Sixth Class

In January we started working on the  Junior Entrepreneur Project. We pitched our ideas to the dragons who were Cecil Whiteside, Mrs. McMoreland and Mr. Dillon. Cecil Whiteside came into our class and talked about what it’s like to be an entrepreneur and how he became an entrepreneur. He gave us a very interesting talk and we really enjoyed it. We are selling Better Bottles, metal water bottles in school. We had our Showcase Day on 23rd of March, which was a great success.

March was  ‘Mí na Gaeilge’ and 3rd class to 6th class sang songs as Gaeilge. They did a really good job. We sang Conamara, Mo Ghile Mear and we also recited a poem. We also took part in a ‘tráth na gceist’.

In science we made plastic and Kate from Dymano came to our school and did some gymnastics with us. We had great craic.

In 6th class we partake in an activity called TSI this is when our class is divided up into groups of three and are giving a book to read with your group. Half of the class have Mr. Stink and the other half have Holes. We do this on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday every week.

On Wednesday the 21st of March, 5th class and 6th class went to Attymass  near Bonniconlon for our confirmation retreat, we enjoyed this very much and had a great time.

We did projects about biodiversity as it is what we are working on this year for our Green Schools Flag.

We also have our confirmation coming up and we did projects on the names we are choosing.

For art we each constructed rooms from shoe boxes. Some of us were very creative indeed, we also studied the artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo and created our own portraits using fruit and veg to made the different facial features.
