Music Generation Performance

Music Generation Performance

Last Monday we were invited into St. John’s NS, Sligo to attend a concert by the Music Generation Tutors and to perform ourselves for our parents. There were four schools there in total. Cliffoney NS, Carbury NS, St. John’s NS, Sligo and ourselves. Each school had a different focus for the year. St. John’s and Carbury had learned the recorder, Cliffoney had learned the guitar and we had focused on vocals.

We had a lovely morning. The Music Generation Band were fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed their performance. We had one quick rehearsal of One in a Million, the song that had been learned by all four schools, it was the first time that our children had sang along with the other musicians.

Once the concert started each school performed individually, our individual piece was One Call Away.

For the finish there was the joint performance. We were on vocals, Carbury and St. John’s were playing the recorder (there were 84 of them!) and Cliffoney played their guitars.

We had a wonderful day and I think all the parents enjoyed the performance. We would like to take this opportunity again to thank Heidi Wilson for all her hard work during the year.
